The Stolen Lives Altar celebrates the lives of our Loved Ones killed at the hands of Law Enforcement.

Mesha Monge-Irizarry, whose only child, Idriss Stelley was killed by SFPD in June 2001 during a pychiatric intervention at the SF Sony Metreon Complex, has been setting up the Altar with our help for the past 4 years.

Our Spiral Dance participants get the opportunity to hear the stories of “Stolen Lives”,  are encouraged to celebrate their lives and transmit loving messages to the grieving Families and Friends of People killed by law enforcement..

Mesha heads the SF_Chapter of Education Not Incarceration, and Idriss Stelley Action & Resource Center, agencies that are not “anti-law enforcement”. but pro-compliance with PD policies and procedures, monitoring racially biased policing, and bringing Healing between Poor and People of Color Communities and Police departments under increased scrutiny regarding misconduct.

Mesha is a City Commissioner on SF MOOC, Marijuana Offenses Oversight Committee, monitoring and enforcing the SF Lowest Priority Ordinance.
